Ham Radio Adventure Continues into 2025 πŸ‘½πŸ›ΈπŸ“‘

Hope you all had a fantastic festive break and your new year has begun well. I can't wait to work more DX and generate some RF across the ham Radio bands again this year. We have now reached the peak of solar cycle 25 so you can expect another great year of fabulous propagation before things slow down. Last year was awesome especially on 10m. My favorite DX was made on AM 29Mhz with Hawaii and Calgary both with 50 watts. I also made some amazing 10m contacts into Iran, Pakistan, South Korea and China. The DX station log count climbed considerably without the need for the amp. The highest power used in HF throughout the year was barefoot 200 Watt from the FT101mp. As for the SAT bands I ran the usual 30 watts from the FT-847.

I can't believe it is 2025, when I was a kid this date was in the comics which were SciFi futuristic fantasy.
I guess I have been around quite a while lol. It's 21 years of holding a ham license and 10 years of M0YKS, how time flies.
Have you seen the new video on a fairly new Sat? MO-122... Well it's doing well and proving to be popular. Well worth trying!

Well that's all for now, as you can see we have a good downfall of snow ❄️ here on the Pennine hill tops. I will be active on HF and SAT bands as well as local stuff. Give me a call if you hear me. In the meantime I shall hopefully catch you later 73 Happy New Year!

T'is Almost The Season to be Jolly On The Ham Radio Bands

Another year almost over once again but what a great year its been. The Solar Cycle 25 is at its peak and we have been enjoying regular openings on all of the HF bands with superb DX opportunities.

One of my most favourite DX surprises of the year has to be when I worked into the big Island of Hawaii KH6/F4VVC on 29 MHz AM with 50 watts output power and my Cushcraft MA5B Antenna.

So lets hope we all continue to enjoy the great radio propagation for a little while longer yet and I would like to thank you all for watching the videos and following the blog despite it being a little slow for posts this year. The video side has been quite full on and I have enjoyed experimenting with the Satellites and the Chinese handhelds. I have not made much of an appearance live streaming as there are plenty of others on that. Maybe I will do more next year but I am now at a point where I believe I have produced an awful lot of ham radio material to try my best to encourage others to join our hobby in some form.

My radio time lately has been just me myself and I without the cam but I will be hitting the air on YouTube over the festive holidays so watch out if you are about.

In the meantime have a great holiday and a joyful Christmas. 73 Thanks!
